T he Journal of Advances in Social Sciences officially released Volume 2, Issue 2 in April 2026, continuing its emphasis on rigorous peer review and internationally oriented scholarship. With a rejection rate of 35 percent, the journal maintains a quality-first editorial philosophy while advancing preparations for future SSCI indexing. This issue brings together research across five major fields: cinematic culture, intelligent manufacturing, regional talent development, AI-assisted translation, and ecological sustainability. Each study addresses tangible challenges facing contemporary society, reflecting a broader shift within social sciences toward practical, interdisciplinary engagement with reality. One featured study examines how Shang Dynasty aesthetics are reconstructed and translated through the blockbuster film “Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms.” Another introduces the concept of “digital cognition,” proposing a manufacturing framework capable of autonomous reasoning and optimization. Additional research investigates why overseas youth talent chooses to remain in Shandong Province, analyzes the limitations of AI translation in handling cultural nuance, and presents long-term ecological monitoring data from Qinghai Lake and surrounding wetlands. Across disciplines, the issue reflects a consistent editorial principle: scholarship should not exist separately from society. Instead, research must engage directly with the structural, technological, and cultural transformations shaping the future. “The strongest social science research does not avoid reality — it enters directly into the problems shaping human society.”
