Call for Editorial Board Members

To further enhance the quality of Journal of Advances in Social Sciences (JASS) (ISSN 3105-899X [Print], 3105-9007 [Online]), accelerate the review process, improve peer-review standards, expand the sources of submissions, and attract more high-quality academic contributions, the Editorial Office has decided to recruit a number of Early-Career Editorial Board Members and Editorial Board Members from scholars worldwide. The eligibility criteria, responsibilities, rights, obligations, and management procedures are outlined below. Qualified scholars are warmly invited to apply.

1. Eligibility and Requirements (1) Basic Criteria
  • Applicants should align with the journal’s scope and have notable academic achievements; in principle, applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree or be current Ph.D. candidates.
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree but significant academic achievements in the past three years (lecturers or assistant researchers) may be exceptionally considered.
  • Applicants should maintain rigorous academic integrity, have academic influence, demonstrate organizational and communication skills, and be committed to the journal.
  • Applicants should demonstrate strong academic writing in English and Chinese, and be able to author or recommend high-quality manuscripts.
  • Ph.D. candidates may apply only for Early-Career membership; after graduation, they may apply for full membership. Outstanding candidates may be considered for Associate Editor or Editor-in-Chief positions.
2. Annual Work Responsibilities

(Members must complete at least one of the following)

  1. Submit at least two review articles, monographs, or research papers as first/corresponding author.
  2. Recommend and organize at least two manuscripts in the capacity of Editorial Board Member / Early-Career Member.
  3. Submit one paper as first/corresponding author and recommend at least one additional high-quality manuscript.
3. Rights and Obligations
  • Appointed members will receive an official certificate and invitations to editorial board meetings, manuscript selection, peer-review training, and academic exchanges.
  • Original and recommended manuscripts by members may enter priority review / fast-track publication.
  • Members have the right to organize and recommend manuscripts and may receive recognition or rewards.
  • Members’ profiles will be published on the official website, printed issues, and media platforms.
  • Members are entitled to academic service support within the Editorial Office’s scope.
4. Appointment and Management

The appointment term is two years, under dynamic management. Members passing evaluations may be reappointed; outstanding members may be promoted. Members failing to fulfill responsibilities will be considered withdrawn, and the Editorial Office reserves the right of dismissal.
