ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES
The Journal of Innovation and Development (JID) is an open-access academic journal. All published articles are freely available online immediately upon publication. The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and been formally accepted. No submission or peer review fees are charged.
01 / ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES
Article Processing Charges
The following charges apply to manuscripts formally accepted for publication:
BASE APC
CNY 580
Per accepted manuscript
INCLUDED LENGTH
8 pages
Included in the base charge
EXTRA PAGE CHARGE
CNY 50
Per page beyond 8 pages
The base APC is CNY 580 per accepted manuscript and covers up to eight pages in the journal's final publication layout. Each additional page beyond eight pages incurs a charge of CNY 50.
Examples of APC calculations:
The total charge is calculated as follows:
Total APC = CNY 580 + (Number of pages beyond 8 × CNY 50)
The page count is determined from the publication-ready layout confirmed by the editorial office. It includes the article title, abstract, main text, tables, figures, references, and other material included in the published article. Authors will be informed of the confirmed page count and total charge before payment.
All charges are denominated in Chinese yuan (CNY). Payment arrangements involving other currencies and applicable exchange rates will be specified in the official payment notice issued by the editorial office.
02 / PAYMENT POLICY
Payment Timing and Procedure
The APC is payable only after the manuscript has completed peer review and received formal acceptance for publication. The editorial office will issue an acceptance notice and provide the applicable charges and official payment instructions.
For manuscripts exceeding eight pages, the editorial office will calculate the additional page charges based on the publication-ready layout and confirm the total amount before requesting payment.
Authors must follow the instructions in the official payment notice. No advance APC payment is required during submission, initial editorial screening, or peer review.
03 / WHAT THE APC COVERS
What the APC Covers
The APC supports the journal's editorial and publication operations, including:
- Editorial processing and peer review management;
- Copyediting and preparation of accepted manuscripts;
- Typesetting, proofreading, and preparation of publication files;
- Online publication and open-access services;
- Journal website operation, maintenance, and publication file management;
- Article metadata management and digital archiving activities.
The APC supports publication operations and does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
04 / NO SUBMISSION OR REVIEW FEES
No Submission or Review Charges
JID does not charge submission fees, peer review fees, or manuscript handling fees before an editorial decision. Authors may submit manuscripts and complete the peer review process without payment.
No APC is payable for manuscripts that are not formally accepted.
05 / WAIVER POLICY
Waiver Policy
No regular APC waivers are currently available. All formally accepted manuscripts are generally subject to the published fee schedule.
06 / EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE
Editorial Independence
APC payment does not influence editorial or peer review decisions. Acceptance is determined by academic merit, originality, methodological quality, strength of argumentation, and relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
Payment does not guarantee acceptance, and manuscripts attracting additional page charges are not given preferential treatment.
07 / CHANGES TO CHARGES
Changes to Charges
Any changes to the base APC or additional page charges will be announced on the journal website in advance. Where fee changes may affect submitted or accepted manuscripts, the editorial office will inform the relevant authors.
Charges formally confirmed by the editorial office will not be increased retrospectively due to subsequent changes in the published fee schedule.
08 / WITHDRAWAL AFTER ACCEPTANCE
Withdrawal After Acceptance and Refunds
If an author requests withdrawal after formal acceptance, the author must promptly notify the editorial office in writing and provide the reason for withdrawal.
Where the APC has already been paid, it is normally non-refundable if withdrawal is initiated by the author after acceptance. Exceptional circumstances will be considered by the editorial office on a case-by-case basis.
