PEER REVIEW & REVIEWER TEAM
The Journal of Innovation and Development (JID) recognizes the importance of peer review in maintaining academic quality, facilitating scholarly exchange, and improving research manuscripts. The journal invites researchers from relevant disciplines to participate in peer review and selects reviewers whose expertise and research experience match the subject matter of each submission.
01 / REVIEWER COMPOSITION
Reviewer Composition and Expertise
Peer review is organized by the editorial team, which invites scholars and researchers with relevant academic backgrounds and research experience. Reviewers are drawn from fields aligned with the journal's interdisciplinary scope, including technology, economics, management, education, society, culture, ecology, and sustainable development.
As theoretical foundations, research methods, and evaluation standards vary across disciplines, JID selects reviewers according to the specific content of each manuscript rather than its disciplinary classification alone. For interdisciplinary submissions, the editorial team may invite reviewers with different areas of expertise to assess the research from relevant disciplinary perspectives.
Reviewers provide independent academic assessments and recommendations for improvement. The editorial team organizes the review process, considers the reports, and makes editorial decisions based on the academic quality of the manuscript and the reviewers' recommendations.
Researchers from different academic fields contribute to manuscript evaluation.
Reviewers are selected according to the manuscript's topic, content, and methods.
Reviewers provide independent opinions, while final decisions remain with the editors.
02 / REVIEWER SELECTION
Reviewer Selection
The editorial team invites reviewers based on each manuscript's research topic, academic content, and review requirements. Reviewers are expected to possess relevant subject knowledge, familiarity with appropriate research methods, and the ability to provide objective and independent assessments.
The selection process considers the following factors:
- The relevance of the reviewer's research expertise to the manuscript;
- Relevant research experience and the ability to evaluate the methods used;
- Availability to complete the review within the agreed timeframe and provide substantive feedback;
- Potential conflicts of interest that could affect the independence or impartiality of the review.
Review invitations are issued according to the requirements of individual manuscripts. Reviewers should inform the editorial team if a manuscript falls outside their expertise or if a potential conflict of interest exists.
03 / REVIEW CRITERIA
Review Criteria
JID evaluates manuscripts according to their research type and disciplinary context. No single research method or manuscript structure is required for all submissions. Peer review primarily considers the following criteria:
04 / PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Peer Review Process
JID operates a single-blind peer-review process. Reviewers know the authors' identities, but their own identities are not disclosed to authors.
All submissions first undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, basic submission requirements, and academic standards. Manuscripts that meet these requirements are sent to invited experts for peer review.
Reviewers provide recommendations on acceptance, revision, or rejection, supported by appropriate reasons. The editorial team considers these reports when making decisions. Revised manuscripts may undergo further editorial assessment or additional peer review. Reviewer recommendations do not constitute final acceptance decisions.
05 / REVIEWER RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewer Responsibilities and Ethics
Reviewers are expected to uphold academic integrity and the principles of responsible peer review. Their responsibilities include:
- Independence and Impartiality: Evaluate manuscripts on their academic merits without personal bias or inappropriate external influence.
- Confidentiality: Protect unpublished manuscripts and review information, and refrain from unauthorized disclosure or use of submitted research materials.
- Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure: Declare personal, academic, or other interests that may compromise the impartiality of the review.
- Constructive Feedback: Provide specific, evidence-based comments that identify substantive concerns and possible improvements.
- Timely Communication: Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or inform the editorial team promptly if a delay is unavoidable.
- Research Integrity: Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data irregularities, or other potential misconduct to the editorial team with relevant supporting information.
JID values the professional judgment and independent assessments of its reviewers. The editorial team coordinates the peer-review process and makes final editorial decisions based on manuscript quality, review reports, and journal policies.
